Our 100 Women Who Care Family is growing! The room at Sunnybrae Golf Club was packed and buzzing with energy as we settled in to listen to three incredible ladies who spoke about their charities of choice. We learned about the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Durham, Community Living Durham North and Community Care Durham, all wonderful charities.  At the end of the night, after much deliberation, Community Living Durham North was selected as the chosen charity. HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

  1. Register as an individual member (or team of 2-4) by completing the Membership Commitment and return it to our office by email, fax or mail. Full instructions can be found at the bottom of the registration form.

  2. As an individual member (or team) you must commit to donating $100 per meeting. There are 4 meetings per year lasting 1 hour in length.

  3. Each individual member (or team) will submit a Charity Nomination Form to nominate an organization of their choice for consideration. Forms must be received at least 1 week prior to the meeting.

  4. Three charities/organizations will be randomly chosen at each meeting. The member who nominated that charity/organization will have the opportunity to make a 5 minute presentation about their chosen charity to the group. There will also be a 5min Q&A period after each presentation. Note: You do have the option not to nominate a charity if you so desire but you must fulfill your $100 commitment per meeting.

  5. After the three charities have been presented, each individual member (or team) will vote for one of the three chosen charities. Note: You are allowed 1 vote per individual member (or team).

  6. After all votes are tallied, each individual member (or team) will write a cheque totalling $100 to the organization receiving the most votes and the selected organization will receive a total donation of $10,000!

WE ARE…

Women in Scugog who care about local community causes and who are committed to community service. We gather for just one hour every three months where, at each meeting, we jointly select a local charity or not-for-profit organization and write a $100 cheque (per person or team) to the selected organization.

If you:

  • are committed to helping others in our community, but are stretched for time; want to be part of a powerful group of local women making an immediate, direct and positive effect on the lives of our neighbours;

  • want 100% of your donations to go directly to local charity;

  • want to learn more about the many worthy community service programs and organizations servicing Scugog

Then join us and become “One” of the first 100 Women Who Care in Scugog!
